On April 9th, Local 73 members got on the bus to Springfield. Local 73 is part of a broader coalition of unions and educators who lobby for adequate funding for our state’s system of public higher education. Our members also visited their legislators to persuade them to help pass a number of important bills that would preserve the quality public services we provide and protect our jobs and benefits.
    In the picture to the left, President Christine Boardman is next to the President of the University of Illinois, Joseph White, at the rally for Higher Ed. The SEIU contingent in this year’s Lobby Day was by far the largest of any union.
